Following the success of Journeys in 2007, FolkLoops in 2008 and In the Space Between in 2009 sinfonia ViVA return to Lincoln Drill Hall for another exciting collaborative creative music and visual art project Time Stands Still.
The project will involve approximately 80 students from two schools and Lincoln College who will work alongside a sinfonia ViVA team led by James Redwood to create original music in response to a visit to The Usher Gallery – Art at the Collection. The project will culminate in this collaborative performance at Lincoln Drill Hall during which the young people will perform alongside sinfonia ViVA directed by Conductor Nicholas Collon. The performance will include Ibert's Divertissement and John Adams' Chamber Symphony which alongside the artwork and clocks on show at The Usher Gallery will provide the inspiration for the new music created by the participants.
The evening will begin from 6.00pm with a private view at The Collection of the new artwork created during the project. All ticket holders will be welcome to attend this viewing.
The project has been supported by Rolls-Royce plc, Orchestras Live, Lincoln Drill Hall, Bergne Coupland Trust, JR Halkes Settlement, Angus Allnatt Charitable Foundation, The Collection, Lincolnshire County Council, Arts Council England and sinfonia ViVA.
