Beanbag Prom-otion: Quack! Buzz! Moo!
Thursday 24th August 2006
John Lewis, Nottingham

Beanie Bear and ViVA musicians at the Beanbag Prom-otion.

John Lewis' tiniest customers had a lot of musical fun with Beanie Bear and three of her friends from sinfonia ViVA as they turned Childrenswear at the Nottingham store into a musical zoo!

Approximately 250 children and their parents joined in the musical animal fun throughout the afternoon. The children joined Beanie Bear singing songs about animals whilst the musicians played the viola, trombone and vibraphone. The children also helped to save the duck stuck in the muck, by using percussion instruments to imitate the sounds of the different animals.

"It's been a great success. Many parents got involved in the musical fun along with their children!"
- John Lewis Nottingham Promotions Manager Tania Macintosh

The sessions were organised to promote the launch of the innovative new concert series the Beanbag Proms. The Beanbag Proms is a magical musical adventure for children under 6 and their families. A series of Beanbag Proms are planned to take place over the next two years and each will be themed. The series will launch with the first set of concerts at the Royal Concert Hall on Saturday 16 September with Quack! Buzz! Moo! an animal themed concert which will be led by musical maestro Alasdair Malloy and Beanie Bear.

The project was generously supported by John Lewis, Nottingham, The Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham and ViVA.
