Beanbag Prom-otion: Festivals!
Friday 27th October 2006
John Lewis, Nottingham

John Lewis' tiniest customers had a lot of musical fun with Beanie Bear and three of her friends from sinfonia ViVA as they enchanted the Childrenswear department at the Nottingham store with festive musical cheer!
Approximately 150 children and their parents joined in the musical fun throughout the afternoon. The children joined Beanie Bear singing songs whilst the musicians played the viola, French horn and double bass.
They were able to see a mini violin played alongside a huge double bass and many of the children were able to have a go on the hosepipe French horn, which was particularly popular! The children also helped Beanie Bear to explore a spooky house with a musical story involving lots of participation and percussion instruments.
The sessions were organised to promote the second date in the innovative new concert series the Beanbag Proms. The Beanbag Proms is a magical musical adventure for children under 6 and their families. The series launched in September with the first set of animal themed concerts 'Quack! Buzz! Moo!' which were led by musical maestro Alasdair Molloy and Beanie Bear.
Beanbag Proms concerts continue throughout 2007 - see the concert listings for details.
The project was generously supported by John Lewis, Nottingham, The Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham and ViVA.
