Beanbag Prom-otion: Transport!
Wednesday 21st Feb 2007
Royal Concert Hall Foyer, Nottingham

Beanie Bear dances at John Lewis, Nottingham.

John Lewis' tiniest customers had a lot of musical fun with Beanie Bear and three of her friends from sinfonia ViVA as they turned Children's-wear at the Nottingham store into the most fantastic departure lounge!

Approximately 150 children and their parents joined in a musical voyage throughout the afternoon. The children joined Beanie Bear singing songs about transport, such as Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang and Row, Row, Row Your Boat whilst the musicians played the violin, viola and bassoon. The children also helped by joining in on percussion instruments.

The sessions were organised to promote the third day of the innovative concert series, the Beanbag Proms. The Beanbag Proms are a magical musical adventure for children under 6 and their families. This series of Beanbag Proms are running over the next two years and each event is themed. This event was the third in the series of Beanbag Proms and will be followed by a concert at the Royal Concert Hall on Saturday 24 March, 'Screech, Beep, Ding', a transport themed concert which will be led by musical maestro Alasdair Malloy and Beanie Bear.

The project was generously supported by John Lewis, Nottingham, The Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham and ViVA.
