On what makes working with sinfonia ViVA special...

When you are putting on a concert and rehearsal time it tight; when that concert is outside and subject to anything nature and the elements might care to throw at it, whilst still demanding a top-notch performance - you need a very particular kind of player; able to turn their hand to anything in the space of a heartbeat, technically secure, instinctively and immediately musical and blessed with patience, endurance and a sense of humour alongside the ability to play the trickiest of passages while the music flaps in a howling gale...

Over the last few years it's been a joy to discover that sinfonia ViVA is chock full of such souls; and the result has been that evenings potentially fraught with all kinds of disaster have always proved a genuine and unique pleasure to be involved in. Long may they flourish!
