On what makes sinfonia ViVA special...

sinfonia ViVA is a very friendly orchestra. The core players always try to be welcoming to other players and I think this really contributes to good ensemble playing.

On a typical day with sinfonia ViVA...

On a typical day working with the Orchestra, my main challenge is to find the venue and arrive on time! I have a very bad sense of direction which is far from ideal when working as a freelance musician. Fortunately, I can often meet and share transport with other orchestra members en route. The orchestra manager, Matthew, is very good at sending maps and directions which help a lot. However, I still manage to get lost back stage. When ViVA did a concert at the Schauspielhaus in Berlin, I went to the toilet during the break in the rehearsal and after wandering around corridors for the rest of the 20 minute break, I finally found my way back to the stage just in time for the rest of the rehearsal!
