Musicians of sinfonia ViVA

On what makes sinfonia ViVA special...
It is a small intimate orchestra which lends itself well to a variety of small chamber combinations with colleagues you are used to working with in the full orchestra. It is good to have the opportunities to perform some of the smaller chamber works that you could not do in a symphony orchestra setup.
On a typical ViVA day...
Most ViVA dates involve a minimum of two hours travel in the car each way. An early start may be required to beat rush hour traffic and for extra long journeys an overnight stay may be needed before and/or after the concert performance. Sometimes the venues are difficult to find, especially when they are off the beaten track! A three hour rehearsal precedes the concert followed by a short break to eat and get changed. The evening concert generally lasts 2 hours finishing between 9.30 and 10.00pm then it is usually time to head home again. Getting home before midnight is always a bonus! Occasionally 2.30-3.00am is the end of the typical working day!
