sinfonia ViVA has forged a strong relationship with Lincoln Drill Hall over recent years. Now, an exciting new project titled Journeys has been created which marks the next stage in the development of the Orchestra's residency at the prestigious venue.
Journeys, a project involving workshop leader James Redwood and a team of musicians from ViVA and soundLincs, is to take place during October 2007. The project team will work with approximately 60 children from Monks Abbey Primary School and St Faith & St Martin Junior School in Lincoln to create a new composition taking the theme of Journeys as their starting point.
The new work will be premiered in the culmination performance at the Drill Hall on Tuesday 16th October, where the children will be joined by sinfonia ViVA. The performance will include a range of Journeys inspired repertoire including popular favourites such as 'The Runaway Train' and 'The Flight of the Bumblebee'. The performance will be presented by lively compere James Redwood.
Journeys has been generously supported by Orchestras Live, The Bergne-Coupland Charity, J R Halkes Trust, J W Wright Trust, Kochen Trust, Wilkinson, sinfonia ViVA, Lincoln Drill Hall and Lincolnshire County Council.
