Matthew Lax
Concert Manager

Matthew is a graduate of the University of Nottingham where he studied music. Whilst there, Matthew concentrated his studies on trumpet performance and played in many of the University's ensembles including the two Symphony Orchestras, Wind Orchestra, Brass Ensemble and Big Band.

When the sinfonia ViVA schedule permits, he continues to play the trumpet in the Nottingham and Derby area. He is currently a member of the Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra, Essentially Brass and Derventio Brass. He regularly plays with other orchestras and ensembles in the area including the Orchestra of the Restoration, Heart of England Orchestra and the orchestras for the Nottingham Choral Trust and Nottingham Bach Choir. Matthew can also be found in the orchestra pit of several local amateur operatic societies. Matthew is currently Musical Director of the Loughborough Concert Band and plays the Organ for St. Mary's Church in Loughborough.

On the odd occasion where there is still some free time to fill, Matthew enjoys reading and playing Badminton.
