Charitable Trusts and Foundations
ViVA is grateful to the trusts and foundations that give their support to the Orchestra and its music education and community programmes. Grants enable a huge range of valuable work to take place, for example:
- Dragon Scales, where young people were given the opportunity to develop their self-esteem and communication skills by singing in a 200-strong choir that performed to an audience of 1,700 people.
- Beanbag Proms, a series of seven informal Saturday concert days for 2- to 5-year-olds to listen to and participate in to discover the excitement and fun of live orchestral music.
- Journeys, where 60 young people took part in creative music workshops designed to enhance key skills.
- More Glass than Wall celebrated the life of Bess of Hardwick in the year of the 400th anniversary of her death. Six schools from Derby and Bolsover took part in a year-long creative writing and music project culminating in three major performances.
If you would like further information on how ViVA can work with trusts and foundations, please contact Jon Ashford-Smith, Head of Development, on 01332 207566 or email him.

Legacies
You can protect the future of ViVA by remembering us in your will. Legacies are important to the long-term sustainability of the orchestra, and it represents a tax-efficient way of supporting a cause that is important to you. A legacy can enable us to continue to develop our artistic, community and education programmes. It can be left to a specific project, should you chose.
